About The Tidy Scout
We're a small research project with a simple obsession: making small homes work harder.
The Tidy Scout started from a familiar frustration. Living in a small apartment while drowning in "organization" advice written for houses with walk-in pantries and mudrooms. Most roundups recommend products that are technically great and practically useless when your kitchen has four drawers and one of them sticks.
So we built the site we wanted to read. Every product judged on a small-space yardstick, every recommendation explained in plain language, every downside listed next to the upside.
What we do
We research organizers, storage systems and space-saving gear: drawer trays, shelf risers, tension systems, rolling carts and the rest. For each category we dig through specs, dimensions, materials and thousands of buyer reviews (including the angry ones, which are the most informative), then publish a shortlist of what's genuinely worth buying.
What we don't do
No sponsored placements, no pay-to-rank, and no recommending products we wouldn't hand to a friend with a small kitchen and a low tolerance for junk. If a category's honest answer is "don't buy anything, use a tension rod," we'll say that too.
How we pay for it
The site is reader-supported through affiliate links. See the affiliate disclosure for the details, and How We Choose for the research method.
